Staff of Vakil Housing Joined the protest by sporting “Black Arm Bands” and raised slogans against corruption.

This historic moment witnessed unprecedented support from people of all walks of life
and protestors gathered peacefully at the Freedom Park. The atmosphere was one of hope
and expectation that the Jan Lokpal Bill would soon be a reality.

In Support of Anna Hazare for Jan Lokpal bill thousands turned up at
Freedom Park, Bangalore on 8-Apr evening. People came up with different placards,
banners, posters to show how much they hate corruption. All must have been the
sufferers of corruption in their lives.

The protest at Freedom Park has attracted people from all walks of life — young college
students to senior citizens, professionals to non-activists. Prominent among those who
expressed solidarity are freedom fighter H.S. Doreswamy, Jnanpith awardee U.R.
Ananthamurthy, writer G.K. Govind Rao, film director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar and
actors Upendra and Pooja Gandhi.
All of them had one demand: implementation of the Jan Lokpal Bill. Protesters demanded
that civil society members be included in the committee to frame the Jan Lokpal Bill that
will help tackle corruption.

This is a second independent struggle for the people supporting India Against Corruption.
With the Anna Hazare phenomenon spreading like wildfire, workers and students took
their time off to express solidarity. Volunteers at Freedom Park were seen holding
placards that read “Say NO to Corruption”. Several others were wearing T-shirts with
slogans that read “Root out Corruption from India! We’ve had enough”.

Let us salute the true Martyrs of India with great honor. Let us honor the brave hearts, who never turned back to sacrifice their lives in order to save the nation from the brutal terror attack took place in Mumbai on Nov 26^th 2008. They are the real Heroes of our country and the entire nation is proud of them.

“Do not come up, I will handle them“, these were probably the last words which Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan told his men as he was hit by bullets while engaging terrorists inside the Taj Hotel Mumbai.

These are significant losses as one cannot replace them overnight or muster the art of fighting modern day terror in one day.

A salute to mighty hearts – Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan (NSG) commando from Bangalore, (IPS) officers – police commissioners Ashok Kamte and Sadanand Date from Mumbai, National Security Guard Havildar Gajender Singh, Hemant Karkare, the chief of Mumbai (Anti-Terrorism Squad) and others.

Our deepest sympathies and condolences to the victims and their families of the terrorist attacks.

Bangalore Food bank

We collect food grains from each household by giving a 5 Kg capactiy plastic jar. Once the jar is full with grains, we collect the jars and distribute it to the needy.

Left over Food Collection

We collect left over foods from wedding functions and other parties to distrubute to the poor and needy.

Old/Used Clothes Collection

We have started a campaign to collect old clothes which can be used by the need and poor in Bangalore.
