Upmarket Bangalore is retreating into the safe haven of gated communities that not only promise fancy homes but also an elite lifestyle.
It’s the latest obsession of the young ‘nouveau riche,’ those global entities who flit across time-zones and need a nest back home that reminds them of the elctronic gated villas in the West.
You can’t have a Beverly Park but a Central Park in an up-scale locality with manned gates, your own super-market and round-the-clock power and water supply is good enough.
